The news buzzing in all headlines this weekend, is a gist on the CEO of Joy4Fame Shipping Company Limited, Mr.John Obiri Yeboah, being given the honor to be present at a collaborative business meeting organized by Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Accra Chamber, and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR).

However, he was represented by Mr. Alswel Annan, the President of Private Universities Student Association Ghana (PUSAG) who also doubles as the Public Relations Officer of the company. The business meeting which amassed great personalities including the CEO of the state agency that inter allia, promotes the commercialization of research results, took place at the UDS Guest House Accra on Thursday, 9th September, 2021.

At meetings of such caliber various CEOs and business moguls in the Private sector, leveraged on this platform with the motive to advance their businesses by making known to their colleagues business partners what they seek to do and also enhance networking for collective growth of the industry. 

Speaking on behalf of the CSIR was Dr. George Owusu Essegbey, the Director of the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (STEPRI) of the CSIR. He opined that various companies must take the opportunity and ensue their businesses towards innovation and technology which is driving the current industrialization in the world. 

Mr. Alswel Annan did not only attend as a representative but also took the opportunity to familiarize himself with business partners of all genders who were present at the meeting. He took chances to also emphasize on Africa's inability to catch up with the speeding growth of technology and innovation in various industries, irrespective of our longed quest for same.

Alswel Annan centred his discussion around the disappointments in how none of the 54 African countries was able to develop a vaccine amid the covid-19 pandemic. To him, in the end, whiles other industry players are making economic gains out of this pandemic, Africa is at the mercy of this pandemic. He therefore urged the CSIR to ensure their continuous partnership with the private sector to facilitate and promulgate research work and onward implementation.

Alswel Annan in his last message appreciated the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Accra chamber for making such platforms available for the advancement of business in the private sector.
