The discussion held on the grand occasion at GNAT Hall in Accra on 12th August, 2021, was based on this theme : "Transformation Food Systems:Youth Innovation in Chocolate Making". This great day was organized and celebrated to rule out the challenges of the youth and to also come up with ways to curb the situation.
The agenda of the event was based on the current statistics of UN which states that the youth in the sub saharan countries are experiencing lowest level of rural transformation and structural transformation of national economies. Another challenge raised was the challenges youths are facing in bringing up innovative ways to transform the agricultural sector for improvement in human and planetary health.
The Conference was organized by ABCDE to give chances to the various Governmental, private organizations, NGOs and youth groups to bring to light the various investment they have made in the educational sector, focusing on innovative ways to transform the food systems in areas of chocolate making and to mobilize support further resources to address educational initiatives and programs about discussion.
The project the organization is embarking on has to do with partnership with chocolate making company dubbed Delfi Ventures on a 2-year program. The program seeks to train students on how to make artisanal chocolates. They would be granted the opportunity as well to experience making, branding, packaging, and marketing
In view of these discussions, Alswel Annan took the initiative to urge the Minister Of Education in collaborating with some governmental and private angencies to raise funds to push this agenda to impact knowledge into this youth and to improve their quality of life.
According to Alswel, this is a very great initiative in a big industry to accommodate the young people to potray their capabilities to the people and the generations to come.
